Stableford

Contact:  Joan Callahan

Stableford is a scoring system where a player gets points for each hole played rather than the number of strokes played. There are 6 events throughout the GHWGA season, usually once a month. All GHWGA members receive an assignment to one of 3 color-coded teams at the start of the season. Players wear that color on Stableford days. Players receive full course handicaps and points are based on Net Score. New members can be added to a team within the season.

All points accumulated each week contribute to the total points for their team. At the end of the season an average is calculated - the total points for each team divided by number of plays (the total of how many days played by each player in that team). At the end of the season, the team with the highest point average is the winner.

Players on the winning team receive cash prizes at the Closing luncheon based on the number of events they played. Individual prizes (Highest Points on the winning team, Highest Points on the losing team, Highest Single Day points) are all awarded on closing day.

The club sends an invitation through Golf Genius a week in advance for each Stableford event. The cost is $3 cash, paid in the pro shop. There are no chip-ins during Stableford.

Points for net score: bogey = 1, par = 2, birdie=3, eagle=4, double eagle=8, hole in one (gross)=10

Food Pantry: donations to local food banks occur on opening and closing days and on Stableford game days.
